1973 Moto Guzzi 850 T3 This old Moto Guzzi 850 T3 was sitting in a junkyard in Trenton, NJ for ten years when Hal Wiley saw it as a good opportunity to build himself a nice café racer. The Nitro Cycles Moto Guzzi 850 T3 cafe racer is a great example of how a motorcycle designed for one purpose can be rebuilt for another. A hefty cruiser becomes a sleek street racer and the words of a brilliant design engineer reign true. This Moto Guzzi 850T3 based Cafe Racer was sent in by Helge a German expat living in the states. The Guzzi was purchased as a “barn find” but turned out to be in a much worse state that Helge would have ever imagined. Quickly realising the machine wasn’t fit for a rest Helge decided a Cafe Racer conversion was the best path to take. The Moto Guzzi 850 T3 is one of my personal favourite bikes from the long running Italian motorcycle manufacturer, the "850" is the engine capacity with the "T" designation standing for "Turismo" and the "3" referencing the triple disc braking system.
